Box Score Owings Mills, Md. – The Stevenson women's soccer team tied Eastern University 1-1 in their seasons first MAC Commonwealth Conference game Saturday evening.

In the first half, both teams struggled to gain any lasting possessions. Stevenson junior forward
Mackenzie Grove was the first to test Eastern goalkeeper Brooke Moskey at 16:15, the first of four shots in the half. Stevenson's defense allowed Eastern only one shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.
The second half started with an early Mustang shot from first-year forward
Kamille Purcell. The Eagles responded quickly and scored at 52:56 off the foot of Wilk, assisted by Lindsay Kline. The Mustangs had chances to tie the game, coming from shots off Purcell and first-year forward
Caitlin Bridgers. An Eastern foul set up the free kick for Mesquita, who dropped the ball in from 40 yards out to tie the game 1-1 at 84:30.
This was her second free kick goal in the past two games, the first coming against Penn State Abington Wednesday afternoon.
With the tie, the Mustangs move to 1-7-2. They are in action next as they visit Messiah University on Tuesday, Oct. 4 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The Eastern Eagles move to 1-5-4. They will travel to Widener University on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
