Box Score Owings Mills, Md. – The Stevenson men's soccer team opened MAC Commonwealth Conference play with a 2-1 comeback win over Eastern University Saturday afternoon.
Eastern's lone goal came in the first half by Derek Buhrman. The Mustang's rallied in the final 45 minutes with goals from junior midfielder

Logan Ruth.
In the first 20 minutes of action, both teams traded shooting opportunities and eventually a corner kick for the Eagles led to a Buhrman goal, his second of the season, assisted by Aidan Link. The Mustangs pushed back with two quick shots on goal, forcing first-year Eagles goalkeeper Ty Bleiler to make a pair of saves. Due to good defense, there was little space on the pitch in the final 15 minutes, with only one shot being recorded before half time.
The second half started as the first finished in a tight defensive battle. The Mustangs broke through the Eagles' defense with a Martinez shot and a rebound, chipping the ball past Bleiler to tie the game for Stevenson, 1-1, at 60:02.

Andy Portillo. The Mustangs closed out the game with shutdown defense, allowing only one more shot in the game.
With the win, the Mustangs improves to 2-4-5. They are in action next as they visit Messiah University on Wednesday, Oct. 5 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm. The Eastern Eagles fall to 3-6-1. They will travel to play Widener University on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 pm.
