OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Stevenson University athletic department announced the inductees of the 2021 Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame, becoming the eighth class inducted into the Hall of Fame since its founding in 2014.
The in-person induction ceremony is set for Friday, April 29, 2022, inside Owings Mills Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m. Including this class, the Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame now consists of 60 individuals and nine Teams of Tradition.
Lisa Baker '11 of women's lacrosse, Jimmy Dailey '11 of men's lacrosse, softball standout Sarah Moelter '10, Steve Segears '06 and '08 of men's basketball, Mike Simon '09 of men's lacrosse and field hockey's Kara Zimmerman '11 represent the six former student-athletes to be inducted.
Additionally, former women's lacrosse coach and current Assistant Athletic Director MC McFadden will be inducted as a contributor, while the 2010 men's lacrosse team will be honored as the Team of Tradition.
Baker was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program, finishing her collegiate career with 148 goals, 94 assists and 242 points. A two-time All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) selection, Baker was Stevenson's 2011 Female Senior Co-Athlete of the Year in addition to earning First Team IWLCA All-Region laurels as a senior. Baker ranks second in program history in career points, second in assists and fourth in goals.
Jimmy Dailey capped a stellar four-year playing career for the men's lacrosse program in 2011. A three-time USILA First Team All-American, Daily is the program's leader in points (329) and assists (163), ranking third in career goals (166). A four-time First Team all-conference selection, Daily was named the CAC Player of the Year and USILA National Player of the Year as a senior, also earning CAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2007.
Moelter is the softball program's all-time leader in shutouts (10), firing 243 strikeouts in the circle over her four-year playing career. She logged 401.2 innings over 77 appearances, boasting a 2.98 ERA with 34 victories.
Segears helped the Mustang men's basketball program to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007. A two-time All-NEAC selection, Seagers earned First Team all-conference honors as a senior. He capped his three-year career with 1,343 points, 621 rebounds, 274 assists and 115 steals, all among the top 10 in program history.
Simon graduated as the men's lacrosse program leader with 87 caused turnovers, adding 150 ground balls over his four-year stint with the Mustangs. Simon earned USILA Second Team All-American honors as a senior in addition to All-CAC First Team accolades, finishing the season with 53 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers in 2009. He has played in six Major League Lacrosse Championship games over 10 seasons, earning two tryouts for the United States National Team.
Zimmerman was a four-year stalwart in goal for the Mustang field hockey program, earning three all-conference and three NFHCA all-region awards during her career. The program's record holder in saves (553), wins (30), and games played (75), Zimmerman earned Stevenson's Female Senior Co-Athlete of the Year distinction in 2011.
McFadden served as the head coach for the Stevenson women's lacrosse program from 1997-2002, before transitioning to her role as Assistant Athletic Director and head coach for strength and conditioning. McFadden is involved in multiple facets of the Stevenson athletic department, serving as a member of the Hall of Fame committee since its inception.
