STEVENSON, Md. - Stevenson first-year infielder Amani Jones belted three home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in nine runs, while Mustang pitching posted a pair of shutouts as it swept Eastern in a MAC Commonwealth baseball doubleheader by scores of 15-0 and 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at Sugar Field.

• Stevenson (10-6, 6-2 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board with five runs in the bottom of the third.
• Up 1-0 after an Jones fielder's choice brought in Nate Perkins, Alex Kidwiler delivered a two-run double down the right field line.
• A double by Billy McAdam brought in Kidwiler, while Jonathan Brandt delivered an RBI single to make it 5-0.
• Jones belted a solo home run in the fourth to left.
• In the fifth, a Jones grand slam to right made it 10-0 after Eastern (1-9, 1-5) put runners on via walk and hit batsman.
• Phil Dao and Kevin Murray Jr. each had two-run doubles in a five-run sixth.
• Matt Reich improved to 4-1 on the season with his complete-game five-hit shutout.  He struck out six and did not walk a batter and threw 88 pitches, 62 for strikes.
• Jones and Murray each had three hits as the Mustangs outhit the Eagles 17-5.  Murray had a pair of doubles, while Jones finished with six RBI.

• Jones and Murray led off the game for the Mustangs with back-to-back home runs for an early 2-0 lead.
• The next batter, Kidwiler, doubled, and scored on a Kevin Carricato triple.
• Carricato scored on a groundout by Dao to make it 4-0.
• In the second, Will Mesa worked a leadoff walk and scored on a single to left center by Kidwiler.
• Jones knocked in another run in the sixth when his single to left brought in Nate Perkins.
• Eastern got the first two runners aboard in the seventh, and following a base hit to right tried to score, but the runner was gunned down from right field by Perkins.
• A Dao single in the seventh brought in McAdam to make it 7-0.
• The Mustangs scored their final two runs in the eighth.  Jones doubled to left to bring in Mesa, while Kidwiler scored Jones on a groundout.
• Mustang starter Jake Vanko allowed four hits over the first four innings before being replaced by Patrick Sullivan, who tossed two-plus scoreless innings for the win.
• Malcolm Edelin came in with two on and no outs in the seventh and got through the final three innings on 28 pitches to record the save.
• Jones and Kidwiler each had three hits in the nightcap as the Mustangs outhit the Eagles 14-6.

• Jones is batting .706 (12-17) with four home runs and 12 RBI in four games against Eastern this season.
• Jones also extended his hit streak to five games.
• Carricato has collected a hit in each of the last five games as well.
• Reich recorded his third complete game of the season.  He has allowed one earned run in his last three appearances.
• Jones' grand slam is the second of the season by a Stevenson player.  Kidwiler had a grand slam at Albright on March 21.

• Stevenson opens a four-game MAC Commonwealth series with Messiah on Saturday at home with a noon doubleheader at Sugar Field.
