Box Score 2 STEVENSON, Md. - Senior Kevin Murray Jr. became the Stevenson baseball program's all-time leader in career steals with three in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader Saturday, but the Mustangs dropped a pair to Lebanon Valley at Sugar Field. The Dutchmen recorded a 19-1 win in the opener, then completed the sweep with a 9-3 triumph.
- Lebanon Valley (15-9, 14-6) got off to a quick start with two runs in the first, six in the second and six in the third.
- Stevenson (11-11, 7-7) plated its lone run in the fourth when Murray worked a leadoff walk, stole second, and scored on a throwing error.
- The Mustangs collected four hits in the opener, with Alex Kidwiler, Jonathan Brandt, Amani Jones and Phil Dao all delivering singles.
- The Dutchmen finished with 15 hits on the afternoon.
- In the second, Sam Ferreira worked a leadoff walk for the Mustangs, then a Brandt double moved two runners into scoring position.
- Dao delivered a two-run single up the middle to put Stevenson up 2-0.
- Lebanon Valley responded with four runs in the top of the third, including a three-run home run.
- The Dutchmen tacked on four more runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 8-2.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Kidwiler led off with a double and scored on a sac fly by Billy McAdam.
- After stealing third in the third inning to tie the Mustang stolen base record, Murray worked a two-out walk and stole second in the ninth for his 74th career stolen base.
- Brandt and Jones each had two hits in the nightcap.
- Kyle Pellegrino struck out nine in 4.1 innings of relief, allowing two hits and one unearned run, after taking over for starter Jake Boden, who fanned seven over the first 4.2 innings.
- Murray surpassed former teammate Matt Kerber for the career stolen base record. Kerber stole 73 bases from 2016-19.
- Jones, who was behind the plate for the first time this season in game two, finished 3-6 in the doubleheader.
- Stevenson closes out the regular season with a doubleheader at Lebanon Valley at noon Sunday.
