Box Score HERSHEY, Pa. - Stevenson women's ice hockey senior Trinity Barcless tied the game with 2:21 remaining in regulation before scoring the game-winning goal with 2:24 left in overtime as the Mustangs downed Lebanon Valley, 3-2, in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory Saturday afternoon at Hersheypark Arena.
- On just the second shot of the game, junior Nikki Kendrick found the back of the net for the second straight game on an assist from senior Casey Storck.
- At the 8:15 mark, the Mustangs (5-1-0, 5-1-0 UCHC) earned the game's first power play but Shelby Guinard stopped all five shots on net while a shot by sophomore KaliJo Zagula hit off the pipe.
- With eight seconds remaining in the period, Victoria Scurto tied the game for the Dutchmen (0-5-1, 0-5-1 UCHC) on just the fourth shot on net by the hosts.
- After recording the first three shots of the period, Stevenson went to the penalty box for the first time at the 7:33 mark.
- On the lone shot of the player advantage, Aurora Spencer gave Lebanon Valley the lead.
- The Mustangs went on the penalty kill again, this time with 7:39 remaining. First year Ainsley King made a pair of saves before Kendrick hit the pipe down the other end.
- Stevenson recorded the final seven shots on net of the period.
- The Dutchmen earned a power play opportunity just 50 seconds into the period yet senior Angelica Saluzzo had two shorthanded shots before King made a save.
- At the 12:20 mark, the Mustangs went on the player advantage but Guinard stopped all three shots, including a pair by Kendrick.
- With 2:21 remaining, Barcless tied the game with an unassisted goal that hit off the crossbar and down into the net.
- The Mustangs were whistled for their fourth penalty of the contest at the 2:37 mark after a tripping penalty in the defensive zone.
- Lebanon Valley won the offensive zone face-off back but it was Barcless who was first to the puck and got behind all three Dutchmen players, ending the game with 2:24 left in overtime.
- Stevenson outshot Lebanon Valley, 45-12, including 18-4 over the third period and overtime periods.
- The Mustangs were 0-for-2 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill. It is the first power play goal allowed in the last five games.
- The win is the fifth straight for the Mustangs, tying the longest win streak under head coach Tori Emoff.
- Stevenson remains unbeaten versus the Dutchmen, improving to 10-0-0, and outscoring them, 50-6.
- The Mustangs improve to 9-1-17 all-time in overtime, giving Emoff her first overtime win as a head coach.
- Barcless finished the two-game series with five goals and one assist.
- Meanwhile, Kendrick has scored in back-to-back games and has four goals in the last four games.
- Stevenson returns to action on Friday, March 12 when the Mustangs travel to Alvernia for a UCHC and MAC contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
- The Mustangs are back on home ice on Saturday, March 13 in the second of a home-and-home series versus Alvernia. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
