Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson women's soccer team was back in action after 500 days as the Mustangs battled St. Mary's (Md.) to a 0-0 double overtime tie Sunday afternoon at Mustang Stadium. The Mustangs honored seniors Karissa Paglione, Shannon McNulty, Allison Arters, Bridget Heist, Gabrielle Arters, Courtney Eley, Keegan Caffrey, and Melanie Parncutt in pregame ceremonies.
- On the third corner kick of the game for the Mustangs (0-0-1), Hesit was able to get a shot off inside the 18-yard box but sailed it just over the crossbar.
- Just one minute later, McNulty recorded the first shot on net before Arters added a second.
- In the 37th and 39th minutes, sophomore Lexi Roloson and Cassidy Butler put shots on net with Gabby Manning making stops on both.
- The Seahawks (1-0-1) recorded their first shot on net in the 40th minute with Caffrey making the stop.
- The visitors earned a free kick from 32 yards out in the opening minutes of the half but the shot was right at Caffrey.
- Down the other end, the Mustangs had a free kick opportunity from 45 yards out that Caffrey came out to take, putting a shot on net.
- Following back-to-back corner kicks, Mary Quinn fired a shot in close for the Seahawks but it hit off the side of the net.
- After Stevenson possessed the ball in its offensive zone, the Seahawks quickly went down the other end with Haley Bullis firing a shot to the near corner that was grabbed by a diving Caffrey.
- McNulty had a shot on net in the opening seconds of overtime but Manning was there for the stop.
- Each team added a shot off target in the first overtime while neither team had a shot attempt in the second overtime period.
- Stevenson outshot St. Mary's (Md.), 18-8, including 9-2 in the first half.
- The Mustangs also had a, 9-6, edge in corner kicks, including, 6-0, in the opening half.
- First year, Michelle Mesquita, had a game-high four shots.
- Caffrey finished with four saves for her 12th career solo shutout.
- Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, March 24 when the Mustangs travel to St. Mary's (Md.) for a non-conference contest beginning at 6:15 p.m.
- The Mustangs are back at Mustang Stadium on Tuesday, April 6 when the team hosts Salisbury beginning at 7:00 p.m.
