ARLINGTON, Va. - Stevenson men's soccer first year Edson DeMata scored a pair of unassisted goals in his collegiate debut while junior Matt Stellitano and sophomore Kristian Slaby posted a shared shutout as the Mustangs posted a 2-0 victory over Marymount (Va.) Wednesday afternoon at Longbridge Park.

• The Mustangs (1-0) wasted zero time as junior Sean McDonald fired a shot on net in the opening 30 seconds of the contest.
• In the fifth minute, DeMata gave the visitors the early lead after stealing the ball from a defender and curling the ball around the rushing goalkeeper.
• Stellitano made his first save on a header in the ninth minute and made three in the first 20 minutes of action.
• Senior Dylan Holy put a header on net off a corner kick but it was saved by Brian Cruz.
• With just over 10 minutes remaining in the opening half, Stellitano made a save on a corner kick before the Saints (2-2) fired a shot off the crossbar on the ensuing corner kick.

• DeMata recorded a shot on net in the opening 20 seconds of the half before junior Iliass Zouita but a shot on goal in the 47th minute.
• Slaby saw his first action in the 53rd minute, collecting a save after the first of two shots hit off the crossbar.
• In the 56th minute, DeMata gave the Mustangs a two-goal advantage after curling the ball into the ride side of the goal from the left side.
• Junior Alex Morales put a shot on net in the 84th minute before Marymount (Va.) hit the crossbar for the third time in the 88th minute.

• Stevenson outshot Marymount (Va.), 20-16, including 13-5 in the second half.
• The Mustangs held a, 7-6, edge in corner kicks, recording four in the second half.
• Stellitano finished with four saves while Slaby had two.

• Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, March 23 when the Mustangs host St. Mary's (Md.) beginning at 7:00 p.m.
