CHESTER, Pa. - Stevenson and Widener split a non-conference baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at the Widener Baseball Field.  The Mustangs posted a 12-7 victory in the opener, before the Pride used a five-run sixth to post a win in the nightcap that was shortened to eight innings due to darkness.

• Stevenson (3-1) scored at least one run in seven of nine innings and put up three-run innings in the second and seventh and a pair of runs in the eighth.
• Alex Kidwiler doubled with two outs in the top of the first and scored on a double steal.
• In the second, a Trent Smoot double plated Tommy Holcomb, while Nate Perkins had an RBI groundout and Kevin Murray, Jr. delivered an RBI single that made it 4-0 as Smoot scored.
• Murray knocked in his second run of the game in the fourth as his RBI single brought in Holcomb.
• Sam Ferreira singled with two out and no one on in the fifth and then came in on a Holcomb triple to make it 6-1, as Widener (1-1) pushed across a run in the second.
• The Mustangs extended the lead to 9-1 with three runs in the top half of the sixth.
• The Pride scored twice in the bottom of the sixth, then after shutting Stevenson out in the seventh, scored more times to cut the Mustang advantage to 9-7.
• Ferreira delivered a two-run single in the eighth that brought in Billy McAdam and Kidwiler.
• Smoot tripled in the top of the ninth to bring in Cooper Sancomb, who was pinch-running for Phil Dao who led off the ninth with a double.
• Murray and Kidwiler each finished with three hits as the Mustangs outhit the Pride 14-9.
• Murray, Ferreira and Smoot each recorded two RBI.
• Matt Reich started and worked 6.1 innings, allowing seven hits and five runs and picking up the victory.
• Malcolm Edelin worked the final 2.2 innings in relief and picked up the save, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out four and walking one.

• Stevenson grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-run McAdam single through the right side.
• After the Pride tied the game with a pair in the bottom of the first, Kidwiler singled with two out and scored when McAdam was caught in a rundown after a single.
• Holcomb belted a two-run home run in the fourth to extend the Stevenson lead to 5-2.
• A solo Widener home run in the bottom of the fourth made it 5-3, but a Kidwiler RBI single that brought in Murray made it 6-3 in the fifth.
• Widener plated a run in the fifth, then scored five times in the sixth, taking advantage of three Mustang errors, to take a 9-6 lead.
• Stevenson got a run back in the eighth when Ferreira worked a leadoff walk and came home on a Holcomb double.
• Kidwiler finished 3-4 at the plate while Murray, McAdam and Holcomb each had two hits.
• The Mustangs outhit the Pride 10-9, but were hampered by six errors.
• Patrick Sullivan started on the mound and allowed four runs in five innings.  Vaughn Steeves allowed three unearned runs and was tagged with the loss.

• Kidwiler is batting .600 through the season's first four games, while Murray is hitting .526.
• Reich improved to 2-0 in a pair of starts.

• Stevenson has added a doubleheader for Sunday, March 14 at noon against Alvernia at Sugar Field.
