Box Score ASTON, Pa. - Stevenson women's ice hockey junior Nikki Kendrick netted a pair of goals while first year Hannah Labbe netted her first career goal as the Mustangs downed Neumann, 3-2, for a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) victory Friday evening at IceWorks Arena.
- After the two team's traded a pair of shots the start the game, the Mustangs (2-1-0, 2-1-0 UCHC) recorded the next three shots, including a shot by Kendrick that found the back of the net.
- Kendrick gave the visitors the lead at the 8:49 mark on an assist from Labbe.
- The Knights (1-1-1, 1-1-1 UCHC) had the next five shot attempts with senior Annika Carlander making two saves and Labbe and junior Breanna Crosson each recording a block.
- With 3:42 remaining in the period, Sid Squires tied the game for the hosts with an even-strength goal.
- Carlander added three saves to end the period as Neumann had the last four shot attempts.
- The Mustangs had the game's first power play opportunity at the 4:12 mark before earning a five-on-three power play just 39 seconds later.
- Kendrick needed just 11 seconds of the two-player advantage before reclaiming the visitors lead on a helper by sophomore Ashlyn Bray.
- Junior Paige Sullivan fired one more shot on the second power play but it was saved by Miche Windland-Bacon.
- Stevenson went on the penalty kill at the 9:34 mark, with the Mustangs killing for 1:35 before Neumann went back to the box.
- On the Mustangs power play, the visitors fired five straight shots at Windland-Bacon but she stopped all five to keep the deficit at one.
- At the 16:35 mark, Katelyn Brown tied the game for the Knights for her second point of the night.
- Stevenson had a four-on-three power play for 49 seconds towards the end of the period, and managed just one shot by junior Ally Gibson.
- The Mustangs came out firing in the final period, recording six of the first seven shots before returning to the power play.
- Stevenson had another five-on-three advantage for 1:06, but Windland-Bacon stopped all four shorthanded shots she faced.
- With 50 seconds remaining in the second power play, Labbe found the back of the net for what would become the game-winner on an assist from sophomore KaliJo Zagula.
- The visitors went on the penalty kill with 3:23 remaining in regulation with Carlander stopping the lone shot she faced.
- Stevenson outshot Neumann, 46-27, including holding the Knights to just seven shots in the third period.
- The Mustangs finished 2-for-7 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
- With the win, Stevenson improves to 11-6-1 in the series, including 11-1-1 in the last 13 meetings.
- It is the seventh multi-goal game for Kendrick in her career and 16th multi-point game.
- Labbe recorded her first career multi-point game, finishing with a goal and an assist.
