Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson women's soccer started fast, pumping in an early goal before doubling the lead and holding off a strong second half push from visiting Hood in a 2-1 triumph at a scenic night inside Mustang Stadium on Wednesday.
Stevenson (3-4-4, 1-0-0 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board first following a strong set piece marker from Olivia Stephen in the 14th minute. The Mustangs doubled the advantage after Kennedy Cash acrobatically placed a goal in the top corner about 20 minutes later. From there, Keegan Caffrey and the Stevenson defense shut down Hood (3-7-1, 1-1-0 MAC Commonwealth) as the Blazers unleashed a big onslaught in the final 45 minutes.
- Stevenson got on the board in the 14th minute with a set piece tally from Stephen, handing the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage.
- Caffrey made her second save of the evening after turning aside a Natalie Sindlinger chance in the 16th minute.
- Stevenson remained in control, continuing to test Hood with a pair of shots from Michelle Mesquita in the 19th and 21st minutes.
