Box Score YORK, Pa. -- Stevenson women's soccer could not solve a stout York (Pa.) defensive unit, falling 1-0 on a crisp fall evening at Graham Field in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play.
Stevenson (5-7-5, 3-3-1 MAC Commonwealth) pressured late in search of the equalizer, but York (11-6, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth) received all the offense it needed with a goal in the 26th minute. In total, the Spartans held a 14-1 edge in shots, placing seven on frame.
- There was not much to speak of for Stevenson as the home-standing Spartans titled the field in their direction.
- Keegan Caffrey made a save just over six minutes in, collecting two more stops in the 12th minute.
- The Mustangs earned their lone corner of the opening frame in the 15th minute.
- The offensive pressure continued for York, ringing a chance off the post before eventually breaking through with a goal in the 26th minute.
- The Spartans pressed forward for a quality chance out in front as Caffrey cut off the shot in the 57th minute. On the Mustangs' counter, the long dribble was poked away outside the box.
- Following a foul just outside the 18-yard box, the Spartans nearly cashed in on a centrally-located set-piece, but Caffrey was there to punch the chance aside in the 64th minute.
- Off a long run from the left side, Stevenson scrounged another corner chance as the Spartans neatly cleared the ball aside.
- The Mustangs registered their first shot on goal of the contest in the 83rd minute, coming from Cassidy Butler.
- Stevenson continued to chip away, hemming the Spartans in their own half as a looping cross from Allison Arters went over the end line with about five minutes left.
- York owned an 11-0 edge in shots over the first half, limiting Stevenson as weather conditions deteriorated.
- With the York win, the team's have now split the all-time series with eight victories each in 16 meetings.
