Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Both sides were evenly matched throughout as Alvernia received all the offense it needed with a late marker in the 83rd minute, handing Stevenson a 1-0 loss in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play on Saturday.
While each side had several scoring looks in the first half, the pace and chances dwindled in the second 45 minutes. Gabe Wunderlich dribbled in and placed a perfect shot for the game-winning marker for Alvernia (10-5, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth). Meanwhile, Stevenson (8-7-2, 4-2-0 MAC Commonwealth) picked up the pace in search of the equalizer, but could not solve the Alvernia defense.
Kristian Slaby turned aside four shots for the Mustangs, while Iliass Zouita ripped three attempts offensively.
- Zouita had a pair of chances early, coming in the 3rd and 4th minutes.
