Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson men's soccer continued rolling in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play with another thrilling overtime contest, knocking off Widener by a 3-2 count at Mustang Stadium.
Stevenson (7-5-2, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) battled back after surrendering a 1-0 lead, knotting the score at two before Dylan Holy closed out the victory with a late header off a corner kick from Iliass Zouita. Widener (5-7-0, 0-3-0 MAC Commonwealth) took a 2-1 lead following an 85th-minute Michael Donaghy marker, but could not contain Stevenson as the Mustangs netted the tying goal just over one minute later.
- Will Earhart, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week, fired a shot wide in the 12th minute.
- Edson DeMata pasted one off the crossbar in the 20th minute, following it up with another scoring look about 30 seconds later.
- The Mustangs kept pressing and Kristian Slaby came up with a stop on a Widener shot in the 36th minute.
- Derek Jackson lifted an attempt high in the 45th minute as each team went into the intermission scoreless.
- After a Noah Saba attempt went wide left, the Mustangs countered with a low Jacob Chatten shot in the 49th minute.
- CJ Beteta drew a foul in the box, leading to a Sean McDonald penalty kick chance in the 56th minute. McDonald's initial attempt missed, but he promptly raced in to finish off a rebound marker, pushing the Mustangs ahead 1-0.
- Sean Fatiga responded for the visitng Pride, chipping one in to tie the score at one in the 58th minute.
- Both sides went to their bench as the half continued, with each squad finding a few scoring looks.
- Micheal Donaghy cashed in on a long shot from about 30 yards out for a 2-1 Widener lead in the 85th minute.
- Stevenson responded in short order with Alex Morales heading home a bouncing ball in the box, leveling the score at two in the 86th minute.
- Jack Accorsi and Zouita registered chances in the first overtime frame, both missing the target, while Holy had a look snagged by Widener keeper Vinnie Nocito in the 100th minute.
- In the second overtime frame, the Mustangs drew a corner and converted. Zouita looped a ball to the back post as Holy raced in to finish with a header strike in the 105th minute.
- Holy played the entire contest, switching areas of the field throughout the night, eventually closing in for his third goal of the season.
- Morales posted his seventh career goal and first of the season with his quick reponse in the second half.
- Stevenson held a 19-11 edge in shot attempts.
- Each of the Mustangs' last three game-winning goals have come in the 80th minute or later to begin conference play. Earhart stuck home a header in the 108th minute of double overtime against Hood, later notching an 80th minute icebreaker against Eastern last weekend.
- Stevenson continues is strong play in the month of October, recording its third consecutive victory. The Mustangs have notched at least a point in each of the last four outings, dating back to October 2.
