Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson women's soccer team had four different goal scorers, scoring twice in each half, while recording a season-high 32 shots as the Mustangs cruised to a 4-0 non-conference victory over Immaculata Wednesday evening at Mustang Stadium.
- In just the third minute of the game, senior Brianna Christie played a ball up ahead to classmate Marissa Inglisa who beat the keeper with a left footed shot but it hit off the far post.
- Less than a minute later, Christie played a low angle shot across the face of the goal after a long throw-in by senior Alayna Roesener.
- The Mustangs (3-6-1) earned an early corner kick that Christie headed off the crossbar on a ball played in by freshman Cassidy Butler.
- In the 12th minute, Inglisa was able to play the ball ahead to Christie despite being fouled but Brooke Shissler got enough a hand on the shot that hit off the left post and across the goal line.
- A long free kick from junior Keegan Caffrey found Butler who had her shot deflect off the hands of Shissler but Inglisa made a backpost run to put in the rebound and the early goal.
- Stevenson doubled its lead in the 25th minute as Butler finished a through ball up the middle from Christie.
- The Mighty Macs (3-8-0) recorded their first shot on goal in the 44th minute off a free kick from 30 yards out.
- The Mustangs picked up where they left off, recording four shots in the opening 10 minutes, including a shot on net by Roesener.
- Caffrey came up with a huge stop in the 62nd minute as Immaculata had a breakaway but Caffrey came up her line and made a diving save with her legs.
- In the 71st minute, junior Gabrielle Arters found the back of the net as she scored on her own rebound attempt after a cross from Inglisa.
- Shortly after subbing into the game, senior Alyssa Rasmussen played a ball across the box to junior Shannon McNulty who shot it back the other way but it hit off the left post.
- In the 87th minute, Rasmussen and McNulty found each other again, this time Rasmussen playing a ball ahead from the other side of midfield before McNulty shot it over the head of the keeper for the score.
- Stevenson outshot Immaculata, 32-5, marking its highest shot total of the season.
- The Mustangs held a 2-0 edge in corner kicks while also being whistled for 10 offsides calls.
- The first half goal by Inglisa is the first home goal for the Mustangs this season while Butler's goal gave the hosts its first multi-goal lead.
- Stevenson has recorded six goals in its last two games after recording just four through the opening eight.
- For Inglisa, it is her first goal of the season while Butler has found the back of the net in two straight games.
- The assist by Christie is her first point since October 21, 2017 while Arters netted her first goal of the season and third of her career.
- Caffrey finished with four saves for her second shutout of the season and seventh in her career.
- Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, October 5 when the Mustangs host a MAC Commonwealth contest versus Albright beginning at 5:00 p.m.
