TAMPA, Fla. – The Stevenson University women's beach volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Division II foes University of Tampa and Eckerd College by 3-2 scores Tuesday at Tampa's beach volleyball complex.

Against the host Spartans (5-5), Stevenson (4-4) pulled out a pair of three-set victories.  At No. 1, senior Annika Schwartz and sophomore Trang Christensen prevailed 21-12, 19-21, 15-13.  Sophomore Darian Hileman and freshman Jessi Freeman pulled out a 22-20, 14-21, 15-13 triumph at No. 3.

Hileman and Freeman won another three-set match against Eckerd (6-4), rallying for a 16-21, 21-15, 15-13 win to go 2-0 on the day.  Stevenson's other point came at No. 2 as senior Lauren Weaver and sophomore Katie Leftridge won at No. 2 by identical 21-19 scores.

Stevenson returns to action Thursday when it takes on Warner and Webber International at Webber's beach courts beginning at 11:00 am.
