Mustangs Post Third Straight Shutout in Scoreless Tie Versus Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the third consecutive game, the Stevenson women's soccer team did not allow a goal as sophomore Keegan Caffrey posted her third straight shutout in a scoreless double overtime tie versus Lebanon Valley in MAC Commonwealth action Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field.

  • The Mustangs (3-7-3, 2-2-1 MAC Commonwealth) earned the game's first corner kick, just 1:12 into the match, but it was the host Dutchmen who recorded the first two shots.
  • Stevenson recorded the next five shots of the game, including a pair on net by junior Alex Hamel and sophomore Gabrielle Arters.
  • Caffrey made her first stop of the game in the 20th minute, the only shot on net in the opening half.
  • Lebanon Valley (5-4-2, 2-1-2 MAC Commonwealth) had a corner kick with 1:11 remaining in the half but could not register a shot.

  • The teams traded shots on goal in the 63rd and 64th minutes with sophomore Bridget Heist firing a shot before Caffrey came up with her second save.
  • In the 78th minute, senior Jess Littlepage sent in a corner kick that found junior Kelsey Krupski but her shot was blocked. Heist followed up with a shot that was also saved, forcing another corner kick.
  • Littlepage's corner kick was cleared out but junior Delayna Witouski sent in the ball that was headed on net.
  • With under two minutes remaining in regulation, Lea Dungan fired a free kick on net that Caffrey saved over the crossbar.

  • Lebanon Valley had the only shot of the first overtime, a shot that went wide in the 92nd minute.
  • The Mustangs had a pair of corner kicks in the second overtime but the Dutchmen once again recorded the only shot.

  • Lebanon Valley outshot Stevenson, 17-15 while the Mustangs held a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.
  • The Mustangs also held a 9-7 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Caffrey finished with three saves for her fifth shutout of the season. 

  • Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, October 16 when the Mustangs travel to Albright for a MAC Commonwealth contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
  • The Mustangs return home on Friday, October 19 when the team hosts a MAC Commonwealth contest versus Alvernia on Senior Night at 7:00 p.m.
