BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Host Bridgewater (Va.) scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back en route to an 11-2 non-conference baseball victory Sunday afternoon at Bridgewater Baseball Field.

The Eagles (10-12) took a 2-0 lead in the first, then scored two times in the third and three times in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead.  Stevenson (6-13) scored both of its runs in the top of the seventh as junior Billy Small belted a two-run home run to make it 7-2, his third home run of the season.  Junior John D'Aquanno scored on the blast as he led off the inning with a single.

Bridgewater responded by pushing across four more runs in the bottom of the seventh for an 11-2 lead.

Senior shortstop Kyle Weidemeyer had two hits for Stevenson as the Mustangs mustered just four hits on the afternoon, getting outhit 12-4.

Stevenson used six pitchers on the day, with freshman Kevin Kopec taking the loss after going 3.1 innings and allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits.  He struck out two and walked one.  Bridgewater counterpart Ian Mayes went six innings and carried a no-hitter into the fifth when Wiedemeyer singled.  He struck out a pair.

The Mustangs return to action Tuesday afternoon when they travel to McDaniel College for a 3:30 non-conference contest.
