Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's soccer team saw its six game winning streak snapped as the Mustangs dropped a 5-0 MAC Commonwealth decision versus Arcadia Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
The Mustangs (10-4, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth), who are currently ranked at No. 9 in the Mid-Atlantic region, are currently sitting in a tie for second place with nine points. Meanwhile. the Knights (10-5, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth), who are ranked at No. 6 in the region, are in first place with 12 points.
Stevenson recorded the opening shot on net as senior Kailee Ziegler attempted the team's only shot in the opening half in the ninth minute. Over the next six minutes, the hosts fired six shots with three of them saved by senior Tiffany McKee.
In the 22nd minute, Jess Kelly broke through for Arcadia, finishing a through ball sent in by Kayla Haberbosch for a 1-0 lead. It is the first time the Mustangs have trailed in the last 577:56 when the team fell in overtime at Shenandoah.
The Knights added another two goals in the opening half just 3:20 apart, as Kelly scored her second of three goals. It is the second time this season that Stevenson was held to one or fewer shots in a half after being held without a shot in the second half versus Widener.
Arcadia opened the second half with a goal just 3:08 into the period before tallying the fifth in the 74th minute.
The Mustangs recorded six shots in the second half with two on net. The team recorded its first shot of the half in the 61st minute as a header by freshman Gabrielle Arters off a corner kick from senior Brittney Celano went high.
Senior Julia Webb and freshman Raven Isaac recorded the team's shots on net.
McKee recorded six saves in the game while freshman Keegan Caffrey saw her first career action in net.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 when the Mustangs host a MAC Commonwealth contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
