OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson women's soccer team opened its 2026 campaign on Tuesday evening, falling to Rutgers-Camden, 2-1, at Owings Mills East.
Stevenson generated opportunities early, recording the first two shots of the contest before the Scarlet Raptors began to find its offensive rhythm. Goalkeeper Isabella Serano made three saves in the opening half to keep the Mustangs within striking distance.
Rutgers-Camden broke through in the 36th minute when they found the back of the net to give Rutgers-Camden a 1-0 advantage. Stevenson nearly answered before halftime, as Grace Fay sent an attempt off the left post in the 44th minute, but the Mustangs entered the break trailing by one.
Stevenson came out strong in the second half. Courtney Keehner and Jenna Keener each put shots on goal before Nyla Behram delivered the equalizer in the 56th minute, scoring her first collegiate goal, to even the contest at 1-1.
The Mustangs continued to search for the go-ahead goal, with Faith Moroney and Keehner generating opportunities late in the half. Rutgers-Camden, however, regained the lead with just 1:27 remaining to give the Scarlet Raptors the 2-1 victory.
Serano finished the contest with six saves, while the Mustangs also registered a team save. Keehner led Stevenson with three shots, while Behram recorded the Mustangs' lone goal.
Stevenson return to action on Friday when they travel to Muhlenberg for a 5 p.m. match-up.
