FREDERICK, Md. - Senior Haley Christie scored her first career goal as the Stevenson women's soccer team won its sixth straight game with a 3-0 MAC Commonwealth victory over Hood Tuesday evening at Thomas Athletic Field.

The win is the ninth consecutive for the Mustangs (10-3, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) and lead the all-time series 13-2. During the nine game winning streak, Stevenson has outscored the Blazers, 39-2 with seven shutouts.

After a combined five shots through the opening 39 minutes of play, the Mustangs earned a penalty kick after a foul on Hood (8-5-1, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) in the box. Senior Emily Lord converted on the penalty kick for her second goal of the season.

It is the second consecutive game that Stevenson has made a penalty kick after junior Sam Hooker scored one to win in overtime over Widener on Saturday.

Christie scored her first career goal on a header in the 66th minute off a corner kick from senior Kailee Ziegler. It is the first point of the season for Ziegler.

The Mustangs got a late insurance goal in the 85th minute as sophomore Brianna Christie scored her first goal of the season and seventh of her career off a pass from sophomore Marissa Inglisa. Christie has three goals in two career games against the Blazers.

Inglisa picks up her team leading 10th point of the season with the assist.

In net, senior Tiffany McKee needed just one save for her school record 22nd shutout and program record 37th win. McKee picked up the program records in saves and games started earlier in the season.

The Mustangs outshot Hood, 10-3 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, October 14 when the Mustangs travel to Arcadia for a MAC Commonwealth contest beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Knights are ranked at No. 6 in the Mid-Atlantic region while the Mustangs are ranked at No. 9.
