REISTERSTOWN, Md. – Ellen Carter scored with 20 seconds remaining in regulation as Endicott erased a 2-0 deficit to down the Stevenson women's ice hockey team in a Colonial Hockey Conference contest Saturday afternoon at Reisterstown Sportsplex. 

The Mustangs (4-4-0, 3-2-0 CHC) failed to reach 30 shots for the third time this season and is now 0-3 on the year when registering less than 30 shots. It is also the first time the team has dropped back-to-back home games since December 27 and 28, 2014.

Freshman Allyson Barlow put the hosts up 1-0 just 2:08 into the contest with an unassisted tally after cleaning up a rebound from sophomore Cierra Siemasko. It was the first career goal for Barlow who becomes the second rookie to score this season.

At the 12:11 mark, junior Chelsea Blackburn doubled the Mustangs lead on assists from her linesmates junior Monica Pozuc and freshman Jordan Pirrello. It is the first time Stevenson has failed to win when Blackburn scores a goal as the team falls to 28-1 when she scores.

Stevenson outshot the Gulls, 12-7 in the opening period but failed on its two power play opportunities. It marks the third straight game without a power play goal for the Mustangs and sixth this season.

Just 1:28 into the second period, Cally Chase cut Endicott's deficit back to one after the Mustangs failed to get a shift change from the opening face off. Chase fired a shot from the blue line that freshman goalkeeper Annie Smyth-Hammond was shielded from.

Caroline Hughes, who tallied the assist on the Gulls (7-0-0, 6-0-0 CHC) first goal, knotted the game at 2-2 for the visitors at the 8:25 mark.

With the Stevenson forward line going for a change late in the game, Carter was able to get a wrister on target to the upper right corner for the go-ahead score.

After a timeout, the Mustangs pull Smyth-Hammond in favor for an extra skater. Off an offensive zone face off, junior Chelsea Ellis was able to get off a shot but Vendela Jonsson was there for her 24th and final save to seal the victory.

Smyth-Hammond finished with 30 saves while the Mustangs penalty kill units were 3-for-3. Sophomore Maddy Ricci led the team with two blocked shots.

The Gulls outshot the hosts, 33-26, including 26-14 over the final two periods.

Stevenson returns to action on December 2 when the Mustangs face Johnson & Wales in a non-conference contest in at Chelsea Pier in New York, N.Y. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
