Box Score READING, Pa. - The Stevenson women's soccer team outshot Albright, 15-6, but neither team could find the back of the net as the Mustangs and Lions finished in a scoreless double overtime tie Saturday afternoon at Gene L. Shirk Stadium.
The Mustangs (5-4-2, 2-0-1 MAC Commonwealth) have posted three consecutive shutouts and junior goalkeeper Tiffany McKee and the defense extended their shutout streak to 304:43. It was also the fourth shutout for Stevenson over Albright.
The Lions (8-4-1, 2-0-1 MAC Commonwealth) recorded the first shot and corner kick of the game, both in the fourth minute, but Stevenson outshot the hosts 4-0 throughout the remainder of the half. Albright held a slight 3-2 edge in corner kicks, including one in the closing seconds of the half.
Two of the Mustangs four shots in the opening half were put on frame while Albright's lone shot was blocked by the defense.
Midway throughout the second half, Albright's Emily Saxon headed a shot towards goal off a corner kick but the Mustangs defense was there to clear the ball off the line. It is the third team save for Stevenson this season.
Neither team could find the back of the net in regulation as both goalies made saves in the final five minutes of the second half to keep the game scoreless.
The Lions recorded the first shot of the first overtime period before Stevenson fired the next three, with two of them blocked by the defense. Alexis Tunney recorded one of her six saves in the overtime period.
Each team was only able to get one shot off in the second overtime period, with both of them off frame.
McKee, who posted her fourth shutout of the season, finished with three saves and is just 13 shy of 200. Only three players in program history have tallied 200 career saves.
Stevenson returns home for a three-game home stand beginning with a MAC Commonwealth contest versus Arcadia beginning at 1:00 p.m.
