CHESTER, Pa. - Stevenson men's soccer junior Jonathan Hart scored his first career goal in the 89th minute as the Mustangs defeated Widener, 3-2, in the MAC Commonwealth opener for both teams Saturday evening at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

The win is the first on the road for the Mustangs (2-7-2, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) this season and extends Stevenson's unbeaten streak to three games. The team also ties its season-high with three goals.

Stevenson recorded five shots in the opening half with only one going on the frame, a shot by freshman Sam Bly that found the back of the net with 12 seconds remaining in the opening half. It is the first career goal for Bly.

Tommy O'Keefe knotted the game at 1-1 for the Pride (2-7-1, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) just 4:36 into the second half on the hosts first shot of the period. It is the sixth goal the Mustangs have given up in the first five minutes of the second half this season.

The Mustangs reclaimed the lead in the 76th minute on an own goal by Widener. But the hosts tied the game once again just 1:58 later as O'Keefe found the team's leading scorer, Kevin McKenna.

Freshman DR Medtart tallied his first career point as he assisted on Hart's game-winning goal with 1:53 remaining in regulation.

Widener was able to get off one more shot with five seconds remaining but the shot was blocked.

Senior Michael Tringali finished with three saves, all in the first half.

The Mustangs held a slight 12-11 edge in shots and a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.

Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, October 5 when the Mustangs host a MAC Commonwealth contest versus Hood beginning at 4:00 p.m.
