Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Stevenson field hockey freshman Talia Parish made her first career appearance and recorded a save as the Mustangs fell to Washington (Md.), 4-0, in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.
For the first time since the season opener against No. 2 Salisbury, the Mustangs (0-5) were outshot by their opponents. Stevenson was outshot 17-11 after holding an 71-24 advantage in shots over the previous three games.
The Shorewomen (2-2) took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a goal by Jenn Miller ten minutes before the break. Miller, who scored twice in the game, lofted both her shots high over the goalie.
Washington (Md.) held a 13-5 advantage in penalty corners and scored two of its three second half goals falling a penalty corner. The Shorewomen took eight penalty corners in the second half.
Junior Gabriella Brooks led the Mustangs with eight saves as Parish recorded her first playing time as a Mustang.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, September 16 when the Mustangs travel to Rowan for a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
