Box Score STEVENSON, Md.- Highlighted by the first career hits by freshmen Travis Brown and Matt Alcantara and a first career win by freshman Michael Remeikis, the Stevenson baseball team posted a 14-7 non-conference victory versus Neumann Wednesday afternoon at Park Field.
The Mustangs (14-13-2) posted their fifth-straight game with at least 10 runs while recording 10 hits for the 12th time this season. The team also posted at least 10 RBIs for the fifth-straight game and sixth this season.
The Knights (11-6) built a 3-0 lead over the first two innings before the Stevenson bats came alive with a seven-run second inning. Neumann would get back within two after scoring two runs on three hits but the Mustangs totaled five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead.
The freshman duo of Brown and Alcantara combined for two hits to go along with five runs and two RBIs. Meanwhile, junior Nick Peifer finished 3-for-5 with a double and a run while classmate Craig Joseph extended his hitting streak to seven games going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.
A total of five Mustangs totaled at least two hits as senior Brody Tennant and junior Ian Eberly totaled two hits. Tennant also totaled three RBIs and a run while Eberly scored twice.
Making just his fourth career appearance, Remeikis picked up the win after scattering three hits in 3.0 innings.
Stevenson returns to action on Thursday, April 16 when the Mustangs travel to Penn State Harrisburg for a non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
