Box Score STEVENSON, Md. - With two outs in the bottom of the seventh and the game tied at 5-5, freshman Jake Dimon scored on a wild pitch for what proved to be the game-winning run as the Stevenson baseball team posted a 6-5 victory over Lebanon Valley Friday at Park Field.
The Mustangs (5-7-2, 4-1 MAC) improved their winning streak to four-straight in the Commonwealth Conference and are unbeaten in six of their last eight overall.
Stevenson jumped out to a 5-1 lead after four behind junior Alec Romanowski who allowed just one run on four hits while leaving four runners on base and striking out four. Three of his strikeouts came in the second when he struck out the side.
Meanwhile, the Mustang offense plated three runs in the third and two in the fourth. Senior Troy Miller drove in the first two runs on a double to right center before scoring on an RBI-single through the left side by junior Craig Joseph.
Miller also had a two-run double in the fourth after the Dutchmen (5-7, 1-2 MAC) got on the board in the top of the inning on a double to right center by Colin Albright that scored Phill Dohner.
However, Lebanon Valley tied the game with four runs in the top of the fifth on RBIs by Dohner and Zach Smith before a two-run double by Devin Dellinger.
After allowing two of the first four batters he faced in the sixth to reach base, Romanowski was relieved by junior Trevor Fitzsimmons who allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out two over the final 3.1 innings.
Fitzsimmons earned his second win in as many appearances after Dimon led off the seventh with walk, before advancing to third on a sacrifice and a ground out and scoring on a wild pitch by Austin Hornberger.
Miller finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs while junior Ian Eberly also had two hits, going 2-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to six games. During his six-game hitting streak, Eberly is hitting .429 (9-for-21) with a double and six runs scored.
Dohner was 3-for-5 for the Dutchmen while Hornberger fell to 0-2 in three appearances this season.
Stevenson and Lebanon Valley wrap-up their three-game series on Saturday with a doubleheader at the Dutchmen's McGill Field. First pitch is at noon.
