Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md.- Highlighted by two assists from Senior Allie Ondrejcak, the Stevenson University women's soccer team erased a one-goal deficit in the second half as they defeated Lebanon Valley 2-1 on Saturday's Senior Day at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs (9-2, 6-10 MAC Commonwealth) entered the game in a three-way tie for second place with Lebanon Valley and Arcadia. With the win, the Mustangs clinched sole possession of second place and will host the MAC Commonwealth semifinals on Thursday, November 5. This is the fourth-straight year Stevenson has advanced to the MAC Commonwealth tournament.
Lebanon Valley (12-5, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth) took the lead 35:52 into the first half when Sammy Bost fired a shot from the left side of the box to the lower right-hand corner of the net, putting the visitors up 1-0. The Dutchmen totaled five shots in the half, while holding Stevenson to just two.
Just over eight minutes into the second half, freshman Sam Hooker headed the ball off of a corner kick by Ondrejcak to tie the game 1-1. This was Ondrejcak's seventh assist of the season and her fifth assist off of corner kicks. It was also Hooker's second goal of the season, both coming off of corner kicks from Ondrejcak.
In the 65th minute, a Dutchmen foul awarded the Mustangs a free kick. Ondrejcak took the kick and found classmate Jordan Porretto, who headed in the game-winner. Poretto has totaled a career-high five goals this season in her senior campaign.
Stevenson outshot Lebanon Valley 10-8 while holding a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
In pregame ceremonies, the team honored seniors Ondrejcak, Poretto, Taylor Venturino, Emily Losquadro, Ashlyn Hawbaker, and Jenna Shenk.
The Mustangs return to action on Thursday, November 5 when they host the MAC Commonwealth semifinals versus Arcadia beginning at 7 p.m.
