Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson men's soccer team outshot Hood, 14-11, but the Mustangs were shutout for the seventh time this season as the Blazers remained in third place in the conference with a 2-0 victory Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.
Despite the loss, the Mustangs (4-9-1, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) remain one win out of playoff contention with three points as the third through fifth place teams currently all have six points.
Christiano Pillari put the Blazers (11-4, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) ahead in the 15th minute after controlling a pass from Drew Demich and getting around his defender before firing a shot to the far post.
The hosts doubled its lead early in the second half as Romo Monarrez finished a header of a double assist from Mitchell Mattox and Juliano Pillari.
Senior Ryan Callinan finished with four saves.
Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, October 20 when the Mustangs host a crucial MAC Commonwealth contest versus Albright beginning at 7:00 p.m.
