OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Highlighted by the seventh goal of the season by sophomore Kellen Wittman, the Stevenson women's soccer team posted a 2-0 MAC Commonwealth victory over Widener Saturday afternoon at Mustang Stadium.

The Mustangs (6-8, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) have not dropped a conference game in their last 14 dating back to the 2013 season while improving to 21-4-4 in three-plus seasons in the league. It was also the 11th conference shutout in the last 13 regular season games.

Stevenson held the Pride (4-7-1, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) without a shot, marking the third time since last season the Mustangs have held an opponent without a shot. The team held conference foes Hood and Alvernia without a shot last season.

Freshman Sam Hooker was looking for her first career goal early in the game as her header off a corner kick by senior Allie Ondrejcak on the near post went just over the crossbar.

Later in the half sophomore Lauren Spivey tried to score for the second-straight game but her shot from just outside the 18-yard box was rigth at goalie Olivia Pfautz.

The Mustangs got on the board in the 39th minute as sophomore Kailee Ziegler headed the ball into the box for Wittman who fired a shot to the top left corner getting past the outstretched hands of Pfautz.

Stevenson held a 7-0 advantage in shots at the break and a 2-1 edge in penalty kicks.

An own goal by Widener in the 60th minute doubled the Mustangs lead as a Pride defender headed a free kick by Ondrejcak into the net.

Sophomore Tiffany McKee posted her second shutout of the season and eighth of her career. McKee has 15 career wins and is one shy of moving into a tie for third place all-time.

Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, October 13 when the Mustangs travel to Hood for a MAC Commonwealth contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
