Box Score 2 REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Stevenson women's ice hockey junior Madison Lange totaled a career-high three points while freshmen Chelsea Ellis and Sarah Antonelli each netted their first career goals as the Mustangs scored the game's final five goals en route to a 6-1 victory over Neumann Tuesday at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
Stevenson (11-6), who improved to 4-2 at home this season, posted their second win in seven all-time meetings against the Knights, including its first in three at home.
The Mustangs leading scorer, freshman Chelsea Blackburn, scored the lone goal in the first period off an assist from junior Jessie Capanelli on the power play at 17:31.
Stevenson finished the game 3-for-7 on the power play and have scored five extra-man goals over its last five games.
Neumann (3-10-1) quickly tied the game at 1-1 just 1:34 into the second period when Lauren Cusack picked up her second goal of the season.
However, Lange responded with the game's next two goals just over four minutes apart to put the Mustangs ahead for good, netting the game-winner at 7:35. The line of Lange, Ellis and freshman Kellen Wittman accounted for each of the goals and finished the game with seven points on three goals and four assists.
Lange had a hand in all three of Stevenson's second-period goals as she found Ellis for her first career goal with just 1.4 seconds remaining to give the Mustangs a 4-1 lead at the second intermission.
Stevenson scored its last two goals on the power play in the game's final 1:19 as Blackburn picked up her second at 18:41 and Antonelli scored at 19:42. Blackburn now has 13 goals this season, one shy of junior McKenzie Taggart's single-season record set a year ago.
Junior Sarah Modzelewski finished with 23 saves in earning her fourth win in her last six appearances. She is now 8-4 this season, further adding to her school record for wins in a season.
Justina Mayr made 29 saves for the Knights who were outshot, 35-24.
Stevenson travels to Utica on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m., contest against the Pioneers.
