Callinan Totals Nine Saves, Mustangs Fall at Home to No. 8 Franklin & Marshall

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer junior Calvin Granger scored a late goal and junior Ryan Callinan totaled nine saves, two shy of his career-high, but the Mustangs fell to No. 8 Franklin & Marshall, 3-1 Tuesday evening at Mustang Stadium.

The Mustangs (8-3) dropped thier second-straight game after winning seven in a row. They are just the second team to score a goal against Franklin & Marshall who has allowed just four goals in eight games this season. Six of their seven wins have come by shutout.

The Diplomats (7-0-1) struck first after a corner kick found the feet of Janse Schermerhorn who sent a cross back into the box as Chase TenBrook headed in the go ahead goal.

TenBrook and Schermerhorn got together once again to double Franklin & Marshall's lead in the 59th minute after Shermerhorn sent a through ball up the middle.

Less than four minutes later, Sam Lane increased the Diplomats lead to three after his shot from 30 yard out beat the keeper to the top left corner.

Stevenson got a late goal in the 78th minute when Granger scored after a rebound in front of the goal. It was Granger's first goal of his career.

Franklin & Marshall outshot Stevenson 17-5, including 12-1 in the first half. The Diplomats also held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, September 27 when they host a non-conference contest versus Wilkes beginning at 2:00 p.m.
