Men's Soccer Falls Short in Regular Season Finale at York (Pa.)

York, Pa. (November 1)– The Stevenson men's soccer team showed resilience on the road Saturday afternoon but came up short in a 3–1 setback to York (Pa.) in the final match of the regular season MAC Commonwealth play.

After a slow start in the opening half, the Mustangs found their footing in the second. York took an early 2–0 lead behind goals in the 25th and 33rd minutes, but Stevenson kept battling to create chances of their own. Gianfranco Vitella and PJ Cera each registered first-half shots that forced saves from the Spartan keeper, while Tyler Wood's header off a corner narrowly missed, striking the crossbar.

Early in the second half, York extended its advantage to 3–0, but Stevenson quickly responded. In the 52nd minute, Ellis Amo netted his ninth goal of the season to get the Mustangs on the board, capitalizing on sustained offensive pressure to break through the Spartan defense. From there, Stevenson's attack continued to push forward, with Amo nearly converting again.

Defensively, goalkeeper Nolen Olson-Warwick finished the afternoon with four saves while handling seven shots on goal from York. The Mustangs generated ten total shots—four on target.

Despite the result, the Mustangs conclude the regular season with a 10–6–2 record and a 4–2–1 mark in MAC Commonwealth play, securing the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament. They look to host the No. 4 seed on Wednesday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m.
