OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson men's soccer team (10-5-2, 4-1-1 MACC) secured a 2-1 victory over the Hood Blazers (10-4-2, 3-2-1 MACC) on Tuesday evening.
Patrick Caulden opened the scoring in the 7th minute off a feed from Daniel Baena to give the Mustangs an early 1-0 lead. Gianfranco Vitella doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute, making it 2-0. The Blazers cut the deficit with a goal in the 56th minute, but Stevenson held firm to close out the win.
The Mustangs outshot Hood 16-5 overall, including a 10-2 edge on goal. Caulden and Vitella each recorded two-point performances, while Baena and Blest Dumbuya added assists. Goalkeeper Nolen Olson-Warwick tallied one save in the victory.
Stevenson will wrap up the regular season play on Saturday, traveling to face York (Pa.) at 3 p.m.
