Runners in Scoring Position Woes Plague Mustangs in 7-0 Loss to Salisbury

STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson baseball team faced former CAC rival No. 15 Salisbury on Sunday in a single, nine-inning contest, losing 7-0 while going 0-for-10 on the day with runners in scoring position.

Senior Greg Myers made his team-high 10th start of the year on the mound, throwing six innings and giving up only four earned runs on 10 hits. It was Myers' only appearance this season without recording a strikeout.

Stevenson (13-24) was held to only six hits in the game, threatening to score in the sixth and ninth innings but could not push a run across home plate, stranding five runners in scoring position. Sophomores Kevin Wu and Ian Eberly paced the offense, going a combined 4-for-8 with three doubles.

Salisbury (29-7) totaled 15 hits on the day, with their top three hitters going a combined 9-for-15 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Jordan Gowe led the Seagulls with three hits and three RBIs.

Mustangs sophomore Trevor Fitzsimmons made his team-leading 14th appearance on the mound, pitching the final three innings in relief of Myers.
