STEVENSON, Md. – The Stevenson baseball team dropped both games of a nonconference doubleheader on Sunday against the visiting Neumann University Knights, losing game one 10-3 and game two 9-3.

Stevenson (10-17) fell behind early after giving up five runs on eight hits in the first three innings. The Mustangs got two runs back in the bottom of the third on a two-run double from sophomore Matt Myers. Myers would cross home plate in the top of the fifth on a wild pitch and finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Neumann (12-12) increased their lead in the top of the sixth, led by RBI hits from Buddy Elgin, Matt Sheneman and AJ Koscelansky. Drew Snow provided the Knights' last run the next inning on an RBI ground out, providing the final margin of 10-3.

Miller took the loss after being responsible for five earned runs in five innings of work, striking out a season-high four batters.

In game two, sophomore Kevin Wu lead off the bottom of the second with a solo home run to left center field, his team-best fourth homer of the year. Wu finished the day 1-for-3 with one RBI, three runs scored and four walks.

With the Knights leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, senior Ben Hallam brought the Mustangs within one run with an RBI double to right center field. However, Neumann answered by scoring three more runs on three hits, including a two-run homer from Cam Stimpson the next inning.

On the mound, sophomore Arik Fenstermacher made his third start of the year for the Mustangs. Fenstermacher suffered his third loss, falling to 0-3, after throwing four innings and giving up four earned runs on six hits.
