Mustangs Advance to Third-Straight Conference Championship, Down Arcadia 1-0

Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's soccer sophomore Alexis Siejack scored the game's lone goal in the 12th minute while freshman Tiffany McKee made three saves as the Mustangs advanced to their third consecutive Commonwealth Conference championship game with a 1-0 victory over Arcadia Wednesday night at Mustang Stadium.

With the win, Stevenson (10-5-4) extended its unbeaten streak to nine-straight while recording its 11th shutout in 19 games this season. During that stretch, the team has allowed just one goal while outscoring its opponents, 23-1.

The Mustangs, who also defeated the Knights by a 1-0 margin at Mustang Stadium in the 100th minute on October 4, have now won at least 10 games in each of the last seven seasons.

Siejack scored her sixth goal of the season off a rebound in the box on a shot by sophomore Jordan Porretto that was blocked on the goal line by an Arcadia defender before Siejack tapped it in. Siejack is second on the team this year with six goals and 14 points.

Siejack has now scored 22 goals and 50 points in 43 career games after leading the team with 16 goals and 36 points a year ago. She also has four goals in six career postseason games.

Stevenson held the Knights (15-6) scoreless thanks in large part to outshooting them 16-8 and holding a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.

Arcadia's Veronica Willig, an All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team selection who has a 0.71 goals against average with seven shutouts this season, finished with five saves.

For the third-straight season, the Mustangs will face No. 1 Messiah in the conference title game, but for the first time, the game will be played at Mustang Stadium where Stevenson is unbeaten in 10 out of 11 games this season, posting a 6-1-4 record. The two teams tied 1-1 in double overtime on the field earlier this season on October 15.

Game time is at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and free for children six and under. The game will also be broadcast live on the Mustang Sports Network and SUTV beginning at 6:45 p.m. Click here.
