Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Freshman Lauren Spivey scored her first career goal while classmate Kellen Wittman added a goal and an assist as the Stevenson women's soccer team defeated Hood, 4-0 in a Commonwealth Conference contest Tuesday evening at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs held the Blazers (4-8-2, 0-2 MAC) without a shot, outshooting Hood 17-0. The feat marks the first time Stevenson has held its opponent without a shot since the 2008 season when the Mustangs did it twice.
The win also snapped a streak of five-straight overtime games for the Mustangs who have had six games go to extra time, including three which ended in double overtime.
Wittman scored her fourth goal of the season and first since Sept. 3 when she scored a goal in her third-straight contest to open the season. Senior Meaghan Williams assisted on the goal for her 60th career point and now has 22 assists for her career.
Stevenson (4-5-3, 2-0 MAC) nearly doubled its lead in the 32nd minute when junior Allie Ondrejcak took a shot from just outside the top of the box, which was saved by Alexis Andrukat before hitting off the post. Andrukat finished with two saves.
Spivey added an insurance goal in the 66th minute as she and Wittman completed a two-on-one versus a Blazer defender. Wittman leads the team with four assists and shares the lead with four goals.
Senior Molly Malloy scored her first goal of the season and second of her career after gathering a ball from Ondrejcak off a corner kick before firing a shot from 30 yards out that went over the reach of the goalie.
Just 1:03 later, Ondrejcak fired a nearly identical shot, this time from 35 yards out, which ended in the same result. It was the first goal of the season for Ondrejcak.
The Mustangs held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, October 11 when the Mustangs travel to Widener for a Commonwealth Conference contest beginning at 12:00 p.m.
