OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball freshman Annika Schwartz totaled 25 kills while senior Megan Miller totaled 20 kills, four service aces and five total blocks as the Mustangs fell in four sets to Gettysburg 27-25, 25-13, 19-25, 25-22 before sweeping Stevens 28-26, 25-20, 25-20 Saturday at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
Stevenson (18-3) suffered just its second loss at home since 2011 and is now 43-4 in four years at Owings Mills Gymnasium. The last time the Mustangs lost two games at home in the same season was 2011 when they lost to FDU-Florham and Salisbury.
Schwartz had 12 kills and four digs against Gettysburg, but Stevenson was limited to a .069 hitting percentage after totaling 34 attack errors. The Bullets (15-8) also posted 17 total blocks.
Freshman Lauren Weaver added a team-high 13 kills, but was hampered by 12 attack errors. She also led the team with 21 digs. Miller had 10 kills and four total blocks while senior Samantha Perillo added 18 digs and freshman Deanna Bradbury had 15. Sophomore Sara Bollinger totaled 39 assists and 10 digs.
Laura Bergin led Gettysburg with 18 kills and 12 digs while Joosje Grevers had eight kills and seven blocks. Hannah Bentz had 24 digs and Stephanie Blair totaled 32 assists and 22 digs.
Against the Ducks, Stevenson hit .266 and committing just 11 errors en route to its 12th straight-set victory this season. Schwartz added 12 more kills while Miller had 10. Zeppa finished with eight and Weaver had seven. Schwartz also had seven digs while Miller had four service aces.
Perillo led the defense with 21 digs, her 11th match this season with at least 20.
Mary Tobin led Stevens (19-4) with 12 kills and nine digs. Brianna Evans added seven kills and 10 digs while Katie Hall had six kills and Sydni Horner had 17 digs.
Stevenson, who sits atop the Commonwealth Conference standings at 3-0, returns to conference play on Tuesday when it travels to Widener. The Mustangs are 19-0 in two-plus seasons in the Commonwealth Conference.
