MARY'S CITY, Md. - Led by one goal a piece from Stevenson women's soccer seniors Mackenzie Calhoun (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) and Shannon McGuire (Darnestown, Md./Northwest), the Mustangs picked up a 2-0 victory in their final non-conference game of the season against St. Mary's (Md.) Sunday at Seahawk Stadium.
The Mustangs (7-4) are now 4-1 on the road this season and 4-2 over their former CAC rival since 2009, outscoring them 12-6 in those games.
McGuire scored her second career game winning goal in the 15th minute, scoring on a free kick from 20 yards out.
Just 6:13 later, Calhoun scored her second goal of the season on an assist from sophomore Allie Ondrejcak (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone).
The Mustangs outshot St. Mary's 13-4, including 7-1 in the first half while also holding a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman Annie McCoach (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale) posted her fifth career shutout, facing no shots on goal in one half of play. The Seahawks (2-6-2) were led by Sara Eaton who totaled four saves.
Stevenson returns to action on Sunday, October 6 when they host Lycoming in their first Commonwealth Conference game of the season at Mustang Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m.
