Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer freshman Louis Lairson (Hopewell, N.J./Cumberland Regional) scored his first career goal while senior Christopher Panian (Monkton, Md./John Carroll) and junior Yianni Sarioglou (Perry Hall, Md./Calvert Hall) combined for seven points en route to a 4-0 victory over Lancaster Bible Wednesday at Mustang Stadium.
With the win, the Mustangs (3-2-1) snapped a two-game losing streak and remained unbeaten at home as they are now 3-0-1 at Mustang Stadium this season.
After a scoreless first half, Stevenson exploded for four goals in the second, with their first three coming in a 5:22 span.
Panian began the scoring with a 59th minute goal before Sarioglou notched his fourth goal of the season 3:49 later to make it 2-0.
Panian and Sarioglou paired up to push Stevenson's lead to 3-0, when Panian scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season on a pass from Sarioglou off a free kick just outside of the box. Together the duo has combined for 22 points on nine goals and four assists this season.
In the 89th minute, Larson collected a loose ball just inside the top of the box and and fired a one-timer to the lower corner of the net for his first career points.
The Mustangs outside the Chargers 14-4 including 6-1 in the first half while also holding a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior Pat Carey (Brooklyn Park, Md./North County) earned his first win of the season and second career shutout. Lancaster Bible (1-2-1) was led by Stefan Smith who totaled three saves.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, September 18 when they host a non-conference contest with local rival Goucher at Mustang Stadium. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
