Box Score HAVERFORD, Pa. - Led by a goal and two assists from sophomore Ashlyn Hawbaker (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro), the Stevenson women's soccer team won their second-straight season opener as they defeated Eastern, 4-0 at the Kickoff Classic hosted by Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs (1-0) are now 4-2-2 under head coach Grame Millar in season openers.
Four different players scored a goal including freshman Alexis Siejack (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) who tallied her first career point.
Senior Catherine Madden (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) scored her second career game-winner just 18:21 into the game off an assist from Hawbaker.
Goals from Hawbaker and sophomore Alexandra Nesselt (Germantown, Md./Poolsville), who scored with 1:52 remaining in the first half, pushed Stevenson's lead to 3-0 heading into halftime.
The Mustangs outshot Eastern 33-3 and held an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks. The 33 shots ranks seventh all-time for most shots in a game.
Freshman Annie McCoach (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale) earned her first career victory after totaling two saves. The Eagles' Elayna Simpson had 10.
