Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Led by first team selections, senior Heath Johnson (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) and junior Greg Myers (Baltimore, Md./Parkville), the Stevenson baseball team had seven players named to the All-Commonwealth Conference teams on Monday, the most all-conference selections in the program's 14-year history.
The Mustangs (24-16) also boasted three second team selections in senior Josh Morris (Gamrbills, Md./Arundel), junior Tom Goulian (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) and sophomore Troy Miller (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) as well as two honorable mention honorees in senior Matt Bratter (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) and freshman Trevor Fitzsimmons (Toms River, N.J./Toms River).
Six of Stevenson's seven selections received their first career honors. Morris was named to the All-CAC Second Team a year ago.
Johnson leads the team with a .392 batting average this season while leading the team with 36 RBIs and ranking second with 38 runs scored. He is also hitting .426 with runners in scoring position and is one of just two players to start all 40 of the team's games this season.
Myers has set a new single-season record wins as a pitcher this season, posting a 9-2 record with a 2.50 ERA in 11 starts. He has totaled five complete games and 64 strikeouts over 72.0 innings pitched.
Goulian is third on the team with a .367 batting average and has totaled a team-high 54 hits and 44 runs scored. He was named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on April 1 and is hitting a team-high .429 with runners in scoring position. He has also reached base in 20 consecutive games and boasted a team-best 14-game hitting streak from March 23 to April 20.
Miller, who has also reached base in 20 consecutive games, is second on the team with a .384 batting average while ranking second on the team with 53 hits and third with 25 RBIs. He leads the team with 18 multi-hit games this season.
Morris earns his second-straight all-conference selection and is hitting .336 this season with 43 hits, 31 runs, 23 RBIs and nine stolen bases. He currently owns an 11-game hitting streak and is hitting .366 with 11 RBIs with runners in scoring position.
Bratter is hitting a career-best .339 this season with 39 hits, 30 runs and 14 RBIs. He currently owns a nine-game hitting streak and has reached base in 14 consecutive games.
Fitzsimmons has appeared in 10 games, primarily as a relief pitcher, totaling a 1-2 record with a 5.00 ERA and eight strikeouts over 18.0 innings pitched. He also leads the team with two saves while making his first career start at No. 4 Salisbury on April 28.
Stevenson, the No. 2 seed in the 2013 Commonwealth Conference Baseball Championship, looks to capture the first conference title in program history when it faces third-seeded Arcadia Thursday at Owls Field at Ted Palka Park in West Lawn, Pennsylvania. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m.
