Marston, Calhoun Lead Mustangs to a 4-1 Victory Over Albright on Senior Day

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Led by a combined nine points from seniors Mandy Marston (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) and Mackenzie Calhoun (Ellicot City, Md./Howard), the Stevenson women's soccer team posted a 4-1 victory over Albright on Senior Day, Saturday at Mustang Stadium.

With the win, the Mustangs (10-7-1, 3-3-1 MAC) are now in sixth-place in the conference standings. They can clinch a playoff spot with wins in their final two games and a Widener loss in one of their final two games. Widener plays second place Elizabethtown and third place Lebanon Valley.

After missing the first six games of the season with an injury, Marston totaled her first goals of the season, with back-to-back tallies early in the first half. The first came on a through ball from junior Gabrielle Kuhar (Ocean View, N.J./Holy Spirit) while the second came on a double assist from Calhoun and junior Meaghan Williams (Dundalk, Md./Dundalk).

With her assist, Williams now holds the school record for assists in a career with 18.

The Lions (7-7-2, 3-3-1 MAC), cut the deficit to one on Emily Sousa's team leading ninth goal of the season. Alright managed only two shots in the game, the second one was saved by sophomore Alicia Greene (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) who earned her first career win.

Calhoun scored her sixth and seventh goals of the season in a 1:54 span in the second half on assists from freshman Alexis Siejack (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) and senior Shannon McGuire (Darnestown, Md./Northwest).

The Mustangs outshot the Lions 22-2, while also holding a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.

In pregame ceremonies, the Mustangs honored seniors Marston, Calhoun, McGuire, Alexa Narron (Ellicott City, Centennial), Jamie Matlock (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland) and Catherine Madden (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson).

Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, October 29 when they travel to face Hood in Commonwealth Conference contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
