Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's soccer freshman Alexis Siejack (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season late in the second half to tie the game at 1-1, but Sarah Dowhower scored in the 97th minute to lift Lebanon Valley to a 2-1 overtime victory Tuesday night at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs (9-5-1, 2-1-1 MAC), who were receiving votes in the NSCAA Division III National Poll, controlled the pace in the second half, totaling 11 shots compared to only two for the Dutchmen. Stevenson was also awarded seven corner kicks.
In the 83rd minute, Siejack scored off of a double assist from senior Mandy Marston (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) and senior Mackenzie Calhoun (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) to tie the game after Lebanon Valley took a 1-0 lead right before halftime. Katie Deardorff scored from the middle of the box off of a short pass from Amanda Douglass with just 3:44 remaining.
All five first-half shots for the Dutchmen (8-4-2, 3-1 MAC) came in the final five minutes.
Seven minutes into the extra period, Dowhower scored the game-winning goal on a header pass from Rachel Cummings after Heather Tran crossed the ball into the box from the right side.
Freshman goalkeeper Annie McCoach (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale) recorded two saves for the Mustangs while Taylor Reinhold had four for Lebanon Valley.
Stevenson takes to the road this Saturday at No. 9 Messiah in a rematch of last year's Commonwealth Conference championship game.
