Stevenson (13-8-1, 5-4 CAC) moved into a tie for second place in the CAC standings with St. Mary's (Md.) after posting its first series win over York (Pa.) since 2010.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring all the runs they would need in the first four innings, including two in the third and the game-winning run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Thomas Goulian (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon).

Goulian was 1-for-3 with two sacrifice hits and one RBI on the day.

The Spartans (5-10, 2-3 CAC) would add runs in the sixth and eighth innings before Stevenson added three more in the top of the ninth.

Junior Heath Johnson (New Castle, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) also had a pinch hit, RBI-single that scored Morris for the team's seventh and final run.

Senior Justin Anderson (Shrewsbury, Pa./Calvert Hall) went 3-for-5 and had eight hits in the series, going 8-for-13 with two runs and two RBIs.

Morris was 2-for-4 with one RBI to extend his hitting streak to eight games, the third-longest on the team this season, while sophomore Scott Merkel (Hampstead, Md./Calvert Hall) had his nine-game streak snapped after going 0-for-5.

Junior Brad Blum (Olney, Md./Magruder) was 2-for-2 with two walks.

York's Jimmy King went 3-for-5 while Josh Young fell to 0-4 this season despite allowing just two earned runs and seven hits over 8.0 innings.
