Box Score YORK, Pa. - Stevenson baseball sophomore Ryan Kellough (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) picked up his first win of the season, scattering seven hits over seven innings while senior Pat Quinn (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) earned his second save of the season as the Mustangs posted a 7-2 CAC road victory over York (Pa.) Sunday at Jaquet Field.
Stevenson (13-8-1, 5-4 CAC) moved into a tie for second place in the CAC standings with St. Mary's (Md.) after posting its first series win over York (Pa.) since 2010.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring all the runs they would need in the first four innings, including two in the third and the game-winning run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Thomas Goulian (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon).
Goulian was 1-for-3 with two sacrifice hits and one RBI on the day.
The Spartans (5-10, 2-3 CAC) would add runs in the sixth and eighth innings before Stevenson added three more in the top of the ninth.
Junior Josh Morris (Gambrill, Md./Arundel) had an RBI-double while senior Tony Prescott (Elkridge, Md./Howard) picked up an RBI with a bases loaded walk. Junior Heath Johnson (New Castle, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) also had a pinch hit, RBI-single that scored Morris for the team's seventh and final run.
Senior Justin Anderson (Shrewsbury, Pa./Calvert Hall) went 3-for-5 and had eight hits in the series, going 8-for-13 with two runs and two RBIs.
Morris was 2-for-4 with one RBI to extend his hitting streak to eight games, the third-longest on the team this season, while sophomore Scott Merkel (Hampstead, Md./Calvert Hall) had his nine-game streak snapped after going 0-for-5.
Junior Brad Blum (Olney, Md./Magruder) was 2-for-2 with two walks.
York's Jimmy King went 3-for-5 while Josh Young fell to 0-4 this season despite allowing just two earned runs and seven hits over 8.0 innings.
Stevenson returns home to face Gallaudet at Park Field on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
