Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. - After scoring her first goal of the season Wednesday, Stevenson women's soccer senior Kayla Curry (Timonium, Md./John Carroll) scored her second on Saturday, netting the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over conference rival Lebanon Valley in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III South Championship at Swarthmore's Clothier Field Stadium.
With the win, the Mustangs (14-5-3) advance to the ECAC South title game for the second-straight year and will look to capture the program's first postseason championship after falling on the road at Frostburg State a year ago.
Despite being credited with just seven shots, Stevenson made the most of its opportunities, scoring twice, including the game-winner in the 27th minute when Curry banged in a rebound in the box.
The Dutchmen (12-8-1) held a commanding 21-7 advantage in shots, but managed just four on goal, all of which were saved by Mustang freshman Allison Johnson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) who posted her sixth shutout of the season while improving her record to 11-1-2.
As a team, Stevenson has totaled 12 shutouts in 22 games this season, including nine in the last 11 games. Over the last 11 games, the Mustangs have outscored their opponents, 28-8.
Stevenson maintained its one-goal lead until the game's 84th minute when freshman Ashlyn Hawbaker (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season, tying her with junior Jamie Matlock (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland) and sophomore Meaghan Williams (Dundalk, Md./Dundalk).
The Mustangs will face Wilkes of the Middle Atlantic Conferences Freedom Conference on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
