Mustangs Move to Second in Commonwealth Conference With Win at Albright

Box Score

READING, Pa. - Stevenson women's soccer freshman Allison Johnson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) recorded her fourth shutout of the season while freshman Allie Ondrejcak (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) netted the game-winner in the sixth minute as the Mustangs posted a 2-0 victory over Albright Saturday Gene L. Shirk Stadium.

With the win, Stevenson (10-4-2, 4-1-2 MAC) posted its fifth-straight 10-win season and moved into a tie for second place in the Commonwealth Conference with Elizabethtown with two conference games remaining.

The top five team advance to the 2012 Commonwealth Conference Women's Soccer Championship.

Ondrejcak scored her second goal of the season and her second game-winner just 5:15 into the contest off an assist from sophomore Meaghan Williams (Dundalk, Md./Dundalk) in her first game back since October 10 at Widener.

Ondrejcak also had the game-winner in a 4-0 win at Lycoming last Saturday. The assist was Williams' team-leading fifth of the season.

After missing two of the last three games because of injury, junior Mackenzie Calhoun (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) added an insurance goal in the 58th minute on a feed from junior Shannon McGuire (Darnestown, Md./Northwest). It was Calhoun's second goal of the season and first since September 5 in a 2-0 win at Gettysburg.

Stevenson outshot Albright 12-4, holding the Lions (9-6, 4-3 MAC) to just two shots in each half.

The Mustangs have allowed just two goals in six games in the month of October while posting four shutouts and outscoring their opponents, 11-2. During that time, Johnson has allowed only two goals in her last 525 minutes in goal, dating back to September 29 when she held No. 3 Messiah scoreless for the final 30:10.

Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, October 24 when they host in-state MAC rival Hood at Mustang Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
