Ross Makes Season-High Seven Saves in 3-0 Loss at No. 7 Johns Hopkins

Box Score

BALTIMORE, Md. - Stevenson women's soccer senior Brittany Ross (Millersville/Severna Park) made a season-high seven saves, but Johns Hopkins scored two goals in the final three minutes of the first half just 1:20 apart as the No. 7 Blue Jays extended their home winning streak to 11 with a 3-0 victory Thursday at Homewood Field.

The Mustangs (3-2-1), who were ranked at No. 6 in the NSCAA South Atlantic Region on Tuesday, suffered their seventh-straight loss to Hopkins and were held to seven shots and seven corner kicks while totaling seven fouls.

Erica Suter broke open a scoreless game in the 43rd minute with her team-leading eighth goal of the season on a shot from the top of the box.

The Blue Jays (5-0) increased their lead to two just 1:20 later when Hannah Kronick scored the first of her two goals at 43:27 on a deflected ball in front.

Kronick capped the scoring in the 89th minute with her sixth goal of the season when she scored on a rebound off a shot by Pamela Vranis that hit the crossbar.

Hopkins held a 17-7 advantage in shots, including a 9-2 margin in the second half.

Ross' seven saves were half of her career-high of 14 set versus Christopher Newport on Sept. 6, 2009. Her counterpart Kristen Redsun finished with four saves, all of which came in the first half.

Thursday's game was the result of a reschedule from Wednesday night after lightning forced the suspension of the contest in the 59th minute with the Blue Jays holding a 1-0 lead.

Stevenson returns home where they have a six-game unbeaten streak to face CAC rival York (Pa.) on Saturday at Mustang Stadium beginning at 5:00 p.m.
