Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury's Jake Perry scored the game's only goal, his first of the season, off an assist from Jimmy Mundy just 4:57 into the contest to give the No. 17-ranked Sea Gulls a 1-0 victory over CAC rival Stevenson in men's soccer action Wednesday at the SU Soccer Complex.
Despite the loss, the Mustangs (7-9-1, 3-5 CAC) will be the No. 6 seed in the 2011 CAC Men's Soccer Championship and will travel to third-seeded York (Pa.) in the first round on Saturday, October 29.
The winner will then travel to No. 2 seed Mary Washington in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 1.
Meanwhile, Salisbury (12-2-3, 7-1 CAC) will be the top-seed and host the winner of fourth-seeded Frostburg State and fifth-seeded Wesley in the semifinals.
Perry's early goal was the difference in an statistically even match-up as the Sea Gulls held a slim 12-10 edge in shots and a 5-3 margin in corner kicks. Both teams were also whistled for 13 fouls and two yellow cards.
Senior Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) was credited with five saves while John Vnenchak made three for Salisbury.
